Our methodology

# How we compare providers

Public sources, a clear ranking and zero paid placements. That is how we keep the comparison fair and verifiable.

Independent

Providers never pay us for a better position.

No sponsorship, no paid placement, no hidden deals. The ranking follows one public method and includes every relevant provider. For each provider we explain why it sits where it does.

## What we hold ourselves to

### Public sources

We rely on public provider information and market sources, with a stated check date. If a value is missing, we show “Unknown” rather than an estimate.

### No paid placement

Providers cannot buy a position. Outgoing links may be referral links, but that does not influence the ranking in any way.

### Clear ranking

By default trust score first, then estimated net earnings. You can sort and filter by what matters to you - the logic is the same for everyone.

### Indications, not guarantees

Earnings and eligibility are indications based on public sources. The ERE provider makes the final assessment.

## How the ranking is built

1. 1

We collect public data per provider: commission, payout, contract term and conditions.

2. 2

We estimate net earnings at a fixed reference usage. Where a published commission depends on annual volume, we use the rate from that tier.

3. 3

By default we group by trust score (strong, good, fair, limited) and sort by estimated net earnings within each group. Offers not (yet) open for sign-up sit last.

4. 4

You adjust the comparison with filters and sorting that fit your situation, for example by trust score or without hidden fees.

## Sources we use

The comparison and our explanations are based on public sources.

- [Dutch Emissions Authority (NEa)](https://www.emissieautoriteit.nl/regelgeving/hernieuwbare-energie-voor-vervoer-eres) \- Register and system for Energy for Transport.
- Energy for Transport Regulation \- Statutory conversion from grid electricity to EREs per kWh.
- Statistics Netherlands (CBS) - renewable electricity share \- National average behind the ERE-per-kWh factor.
- Public provider terms \- Commission, payout and contract term per provider.

## Which providers do we include?

We include every party that meets these four points. The rules are the same for everyone.

1. 1

An ERE offer for charging in the Netherlands: at home, at a business or at an owners’ association (VvE).

2. 2

You can sign up, pre-register or join a waitlist yourself as an individual, business or VvE, even if the offer is tied to a charger, platform or energy contract.

3. 3

The party describes the offer on a public page. If a value such as the commission is missing, we show “Unknown”.

4. 4

We record which legal entity books with the NEa, and whether it has the registration-service facility on the account-holder overview of 21 October 2026. Without that facility the provider stays in the comparison.

Does a service only run through an intermediary, such as a charge point operator or employer, with no sign-up of its own? Then that intermediary sets the terms and there is nothing for you to compare. We name such parties below, with the reason and the sources.

### Checked, not (yet) listed

- Blue Current

Blue Current registers EREs only for customers with a Blue Current charger and subscription; you give consent for this in your agreement. According to its help centre, Blue Current and ‘our registrant’ register and trade the EREs, but that registrant is not named, and Blue Current itself is not on the NEa list of registration service providers (version of 7 August 2026). No commission or fee is published; Blue Current calls its example (3,000 kWh a year yields €180 on average) an assumption. Payout is usually once a year, the first by the first quarter of 2027 at the latest. Consent runs for three years and is then renewed automatically while the subscription runs.

    What can you do?

Have a Blue Current charger? Ask Blue Current which registered registration provider books your EREs and what share of the proceeds you receive. According to Blue Current, consent only ends when you cancel the subscription, and then as of the end of the calendar year. Because charging data can only be registered with one party at a time, you cannot register through Blue Current and through another provider in our comparison at the same time.

[ERE for an owners’ association →](https://erevergelijken.eu/en/ere-for/hoa/)

We will look again if Blue Current publishes its registration partner and costs, or when the NEa publishes its register of account holders in October 2026.

- BlueMarble Charging

BlueMarble Charging offers an ERE intake form on its site for private individuals and businesses, including users of the OSTRA platform, with no public pricing. BlueMarble Software B.V. is on the NEa list of registration service providers (version of 7 August 2026). According to the Central Insolvency Register, the District Court of Midden-Nederland declared BlueMarble Software B.V. (F.16/26/429) and BlueMarble Charging B.V. (F.16/26/428) bankrupt on 23 September 2026 (published on 25 September 2026), with K.C.S. Meekes as trustee. BlueMarble Group B.V. was declared bankrupt on 15 September 2026. Whether the ERE service continues is not known.

    What can you do?

Did you sign your charge point up for ERE with BlueMarble? Contact the trustee, K.C.S. Meekes, about the status of your sign-up and any outstanding proceeds, and ask whether your charging data is still registered in BlueMarble’s name; a charge point can only be registered with one party at a time. You can then choose a provider from our comparison; ask them whether your charger and management platform can still supply the charging data.

[ERE for an owners’ association →](https://erevergelijken.eu/en/ere-for/hoa/)

We will look again if the trustee announces that the ERE service will continue or be taken over.

- DELTA Energie (trade name of DELTA Energie B.V.)

DELTA Energie presents ERE as a benefit of the Autel MaxiCharger home charger it supplies together with Vattenfall Sales N.V.: the reward is paid out yearly via a ‘recognised ERE service provider’. That provider is not named, and the page gives no sign-up, fee or contract term for the ERE service. DELTA Energie is not on the NEa list of registration service providers (version of 7 August 2026). Installation and the charging subscription (€6.95 a month incl. VAT) are invoiced by Vattenfall.

    What can you do?

Have an Autel MaxiCharger through DELTA Energie? Ask DELTA or Vattenfall which registration provider books your EREs, what it costs and whether your charger is already signed up for ERE: charging data can only be registered with one party at a time. Vattenfall has its own ERE offer in our comparison; the page does not say whether DELTA’s ERE service runs through it.

- EnergyZero (trade name of EnergyZero B.V.)

EnergyZero announces ‘Verdien met Laden’ as ‘coming soon’: a service meant to turn kWh charged at home on your own charger into money via ERE certificates. There is no sign-up or waitlist yet, and no fee, payout or registration partner is given. EnergyZero is not on the NEa list of registration service providers (version of 7 August 2026).

    What can you do?

Are you an EnergyZero customer and want your EREs registered now? That is separate from your energy supplier: you can choose a provider from our comparison. Keep in mind that your charging data can only be registered with one provider at a time, so if you later want to move to EnergyZero, ask how and from when you can switch.

- GroenKrediet (trade name of Groenkrediet BV)

GroenKrediet is ending its service: new accounts can no longer be created, and after 1 November 2026 the platform goes offline and all data is deleted. Groenkrediet BV is still on the NEa list of registration service providers (version of 7 August 2026), but signing up is no longer possible.

    What can you do?

Have a GroenKrediet account? Log in and download your charging data before 1 November 2026. Ask GroenKrediet which kWh have already been registered on your behalf and whether a payout will follow, so the same kWh are not registered twice. Then choose a provider from our comparison and ask whether it can register the rest of 2026 retroactively.

[ERE for an owners’ association →](https://erevergelijken.eu/en/ere-for/hoa/)

We will only look again if GroenKrediet announces a restart or takeover.

- Hegg (trade name of Hegg Energy B.V.)

Hegg offers ERE registration as part of Hegg Slim Laden, which is free for customers with Hegg Energie as their energy supplier; you activate it in the Hegg App through a link with partner Plugchoice. Plugchoice itself states that it does not register EREs. Which registration provider books the EREs, for what fee and when payouts happen is not on the site, and Hegg is not on the NEa list of registration service providers (version of 7 August 2026). For energy, Hegg is a reseller of its sister company EnergyZero B.V.

    What can you do?

Using Hegg Slim Laden? Ask Hegg which registration provider books your EREs, what share of the proceeds you receive and when payouts happen. Plugchoice links a charger to an ERE service; you can also choose a provider from our comparison yourself, but charging data can only be registered with one party at a time.

- Last Mile Solutions (trade name of Threeforce B.V.)

Last Mile Solutions (EVC-net) offers its ERE service through charge point operators (CPOs) and employers, with Targray Europe B.V. as the registration service provider; Targray is on the NEa list (version of 7 August 2026), Threeforce B.V. itself is not. There is no sign-up under its own name: the ERE page only has a contact form for businesses. Last Mile Solutions does host a sign-up page with a form for each charging company. Fluctis, Hey! Charging and DIC Laadsystemen link to that page from their own sites; we compare them under their own names. Van Leeuwen Oplaad, Ecocharge, Chargepoint Europe and Chargewell also have such a page (mostly 25% commission, sign-up with a customer number), but it cannot be found and is not published by the charging company itself, so for us it is not a public offer. The pages of Streetplug and Mobility Pulse and the overview of all programmes are password-protected.

    What can you do?

Is your charge point managed through EVC-net? Customer of Fluctis, Hey! Charging or DIC Laadsystemen: see that company in our comparison. Customer of Van Leeuwen Oplaad, Ecocharge, Chargepoint Europe or Chargewell: ask your charging company for the sign-up page and the terms (including commission and payout date) and compare them with the providers here. If the connection (EAN) is in the name of a VvE, the proceeds usually go to the VvE.

- Shell (trade name of Shell Nederland Verkoopmaatschappij B.V.)

Shell EV Charging Rewards is not an ERE offer for private home charging in the Netherlands. No product by that name appears on shell.nl, shell.com or shellrecharge.com. In the United Kingdom, Shell GO+ Rewards is a free loyalty programme for residents aged 18 and over: 1 point per kWh at participating Shell Recharge charge points, plus a per-kWh discount that Shell puts on its pricing page and can change. The UK charging page also lists £9.99 a month for 30% off the standard app rate, up to 1,000 kWh a month. Points cannot be sold, traded or exchanged for cash. In the Netherlands the Shell GO+ loyalty programme gives 1 Air Mile per kWh at a Shell Recharge fast charger. Under the terms of use of August 2025, Air Miles cannot be exchanged for money. 50five is taking over home and workplace charging from Shell, in six countries including the Netherlands. You order new charging solutions from 50five. If you received an email that your charge point would be migrated within two weeks and it is offline, Shell says it has very likely already been migrated. The UK charging page says home and business chargers there have been migrated to 50five. Shell is not on the NEa list of registration service providers (publication of 7 August 2026). Shell Nederland B.V. is on the account-holder overview (publication of 19 March 2026, the table is titled 19 March 2025) with the facilities inboeken, overboeken and opvoeren UtV. ubitricity Gesellschaft fur verteilte Energiesysteme mbH is on the same overview with booking and transfer. Shell UK names Ubitricity as on-street charging locations. Shell publishes no commission, payout, minimum or contract for ERE to private individuals, and there is no sign-up page for such a service. The UK loyalty programme has a minimum of 200 points per transaction, and new members can redeem only after earning 25 points on fuel, Shell Recharge or selected in-store products.

    What can you do?

Has your home charger moved to 50five? 50five has an ERE offer in our comparison, only for existing 50five customers whose charger is already on the 50five platform. No extra subscription is needed, but your existing 50five subscription must stay active. Air Miles or UK GO+ points on public charging are not ERE. Charging data can only be registered with one registration provider at a time.

[ERE for an owners’ association →](https://erevergelijken.eu/en/ere-for/hoa/)

We will look again if Shell publishes an ERE offer for home charging in the Netherlands, with sign-up, a fee and the party that does the registration, or if the account-holder overview shows a registration-provider facility for Shell.

- Slimere

Slimere (slimere.nl) offers an ERE registration service for private individuals, owners’ associations (VvEs) and businesses through an intake call. The site gives no company name, KvK number or address, no pricing and no terms. Slimere is not on the NEa list of registration service providers under that name (version of 7 August 2026) and names no registered partner that does the registration. The list does include ‘Slim en Solar’, but nothing establishes a link with Slimere: the Slim en Solar site (an installer in Apeldoorn, KvK 89387287) mentions neither Slimere nor ERE, and Slimere does not mention Slim en Solar.

    What can you do?

Considering Slimere? Ask beforehand which legal entity you contract with, under which name it is on the NEa list or which registered partner does the registration, and what the commission, payout and contract term are. Compare that with the providers in our comparison.

Trust score

## How we calculate the trust score

Next to the earnings, every provider gets a trust score from 0 to 10. The score is fully rule-based: 18 yes/no checks of the public terms, prices and company details, grouped into four pillars. Every check has its own source, so you can verify it yourself.

### Hidden fees

weight 30%

- ✓Headline price is published before sign-up
- ✓No extra costs on top of the headline price
- ✓Any extra costs are shown next to the price

### Clear terms

weight 20%

- ✓Full terms are public, no account needed
- ✓Term and notice period are clearly stated
- ✓No one-sided price changes without a right to cancel
- ✓No tacit renewal into a new fixed term
- ✓Public privacy policy

### Payout & exit

weight 25%

- ✓A concrete payout moment is stated
- ✓Paid automatically, no claim or threshold
- ✓No holdback or reserve on payouts
- ✓Cancel without a fee, at most one month’s notice
- ✓EREs already earned are still paid after leaving

### Strong backing

weight 25%

- ✓Legal entity and KvK number on the website
- ✓Address and direct contact (phone or email) published
- ✓Holds its own REV account with the registration-service facility
- ✓Every link (or registered parent) active since 2023 or earlier
- ✓Every link is part of a larger group or has documented funding

### Ground rules

1. Each check earns 1 point when the answer is favourable. If the legal entity that books with the NEa has the registration-service facility itself on the account-holder overview of 21 October 2026, that is 1 point. A named partner with that facility that does the booking counts for 0.75. Otherwise 0. A mention is not an approval by the NEa. According to the NEa, an account can still be opened until 15 December 2026.
2. If another company holds your contract or mandate, or pays you out, ‘active since 2023’ and ‘strong backing’ follow the weakest link in that chain. A partner that only books for the provider, while the provider stays your contract party and pays you itself, does not count. Yes counts only when every company meets it, no when any company does not, and unknown when one link is unknown and none is no. A parent shown as owner on a register page can carry the age. An investor who is not the owner counts only as funding.
3. Anything that cannot be checked publicly earns no points. Transparency is part of trustworthiness, and it keeps the score verifiable for everyone.
4. Per pillar we convert the share of points earned into a score. The final score is the weighted average of the four pillars.
5. We show reviews but do not score them: most review pages cover a company’s other services (chargers, energy), not ERE.
6. Certifications and a dedicated ERE app are shown with a provider’s facts, with a source. They do not count in the score: the score covers terms, payout and the company’s backing, the same points for every provider.
7. Every provider is assessed by exactly the same rules. There is no paid placement and no exception.

### When do we call fees hidden?

- No - No costs beyond the headline price
- No - Extra costs, but shown next to the price
- Yes - Extra costs found only in the terms
- Unknown - Cannot be checked: price or terms not public

### What does the score mean?

8.0 and above: strong · 6.5 to 8.0: good · 5.0 to 6.5: fair · below 5.0: limited.

The trust score is an editorial assessment of publicly available information on the check date. It is not a judgement of a company’s financial position and not a guarantee of payment. Terms can change: always check them before you sign.

## Independent, with no paid placement

EREVergelijken.eu is independent: no provider pays for placement. The ranking follows a public methodology and includes all relevant providers.

Questions

## Frequently asked questions

[More in the knowledge base →](https://erevergelijken.eu/en/knowledge-base/)

What sources is the comparison based on?

We use public sources, such as information from the providers themselves, public market comparisons and the NEa. Each provider carries a check date showing when the source was last reviewed.

How do you determine the ranking?

We group providers by trust score first (strong, good, fair, limited) and sort by estimated net earnings at your volume within each group. Offers not (yet) open for sign-up sit last. Only providers scoring 7 or higher get the TOP 3 label. You can also sort by earnings, commission, contract term or trust yourself.

Does a provider pay for a better position?

No, providers don’t pay for placement and the ranking is not for sale. The rules are the same for everyone and explainable.

Why is a provider not in the comparison?

We include every party with an ERE offer you can sign up for yourself, described on a public page and run through an NEa-registered registration service provider. Services that only run through a charge point operator or employer, with no sign-up of their own, are not included, because that intermediary sets the terms. The parties we checked but have not (yet) included, and why, are listed on this page under “Checked, not (yet) listed”. Missing one? Let us know.

Why are the earnings indications?

Earnings depend on your consumption, the current price and the provider’s conditions, which we can’t know exactly in advance. That’s why we show ranges and round the figures, rather than falsely precise amounts.

What do you do with missing data?

Values a provider does not publicly state are shown as “Unknown” rather than filled in by us. That keeps it visible where information is missing.

How do you handle corrections?

If you spot an error or outdated value, let us know; we check it against the source and update it with a new check date. Corrections are part of a fair comparison.

Is the site really independent if it’s run by a provider?

The comparison is independent: no one pays for placement and the rules are the same for every provider.
