The price of an ERE has fallen sharply over the past two months. If you charge at home, you see it in the earnings per kWh. Below are the figures from the sources, what they mean for your earnings, and what we changed in our own ERE price.

## How far the price fell

Joulo publishes the weekly bid, offer and mid price for LRE-E, the ERE type for electric road transport, in an [open feed](https://joulo.nl/api/ere-price.csv) (source: Joulo, CC BY 4.0). The mid price per ERE:

| Week 2026 | Mid price per ERE | Gross per kWh charged |
| --- | --- | --- |
| 35 | €0.4725 | €0.157 |
| 40 | €0.4175 | €0.139 |
| 41 | €0.3915 | €0.130 |
| 42 | €0.365 | €0.121 |
| 43 | €0.35 | €0.116 |
| 44 | €0.3025 | €0.101 |

From week 35 to week 44 that is 36% lower. Week 44 was booked on 28 October 2026, with a bid of €0.29 and an offer of €0.315.

[Xolvere](https://xolvere.nl/ere-prijs/) arrives at the same level independently. Xolvere averages daily quotes from several brokers and traders. For week 44 (26 October to 1 November 2026) it shows €0.3033 per ERE, with a bid of €0.2905 and an offer of €0.3160. That is 8.5% lower than week 43.

The per-kWh column uses 0.3327 ERE per kWh charged at home: the renewable share of 50.5%, times 183 grams of CO2 per megajoule, times 3.6 megajoules per kWh.

None of these sources says why the price fell. There is no official ERE quote: EREs are traded bilaterally, and the NEa does not set a price. So we do not name a cause.

## What it means for your earnings

Charging 5,000 kWh a year at home earns 1,663 EREs. At €0.4725 per ERE that is about €786 gross. At €0.3025 it is about €503 gross, before your provider’s commission. A difference of about €283 a year.

What you finally receive depends on the price at which your provider sells your EREs, and when. Two providers publish their sales:

- [Joulo](https://joulo.nl/ere-verkopen) sold in eight sales between July and 29 September 2026 at prices from €0.483 to €0.4225 per ERE. The last two, on 29 September, were €0.425 and €0.4225.
- [Stekker](https://stekker.com/nl/logboek/) sold 1,000,000 EREs on 4 August 2026 at €0.482, for delivery in the first quarter of 2027.

A lot that has been sold keeps its price. What is not sold yet goes at the price on the day of the sale. Ask your provider how many of your EREs have been sold, and at what price.

A percentage commission falls with the price. A fixed yearly fee does not: at a lower price it weighs more. What that means at your kWh is on [What does ERE registration cost?](https://erevergelijken.eu/en/ere-registration-costs/) and in the [calculator](https://erevergelijken.eu/en/earnings-calculator/).

## Our ERE price now follows the market faster

Our ERE price is the median of the latest figure per named source. Until 28 October 2026 a source counted for 183 days. In this drop, that kept this summer’s sales in the median for a long time, and our price stayed at €0.46 while the weekly quotes were already around €0.30.

From 29 October 2026 a source counts for 6 weeks. Earlier dates keep the old rule, so published quarter figures do not move. On 2 November 2026 our ERE price is €0.310 per ERE, the median of five named sources, with a band of €0.2905 to €0.425. That is about €0.103 gross per kWh charged. Every amount on this site uses it: the comparison, the calculator and the provider pages.

We also corrected a mistake of our own. GridCredits writes on [its price page](https://gridcredits.nl/actuele-ere-marktprijs/) that the price was around €0.46 “medio 2026” (mid-2026). In October we recorded that as if it were that week’s price. That figure is now dated mid-2026, so it no longer counts.

The sources per date are on the [ERE price](https://erevergelijken.eu/en/ere-price/) page and in the [ERE market monitor](https://erevergelijken.eu/en/ere-market-monitor/).
