Comparison

Audi: Wh/km and ERE per year

Wh/km is the WLTP consumption from the EEA data. ERE per year at 15,000 km charged at home follows that consumption, rounded to €5. More Wh/km means fewer kilometres per kWh, more kWh charged at the same distance and therefore more ERE. That is not an advantage: each extra kWh earns about €0.12 in ERE but costs about €0.26 in electricity at home. A more efficient car is cheaper overall. Per kWh the brand does not change earnings.

ERE

What does ERE earn with an Audi?

At 15,000 km a year, all charged at home, the Audi models here earn about €280 to €405 a year in ERE, after the median commission of 20%. That difference comes only from the measured consumption: the Audi A6 e-tron at 152 Wh/km to the Audi Q8 e-tron at 221 Wh/km.

Per kWh, ERE earnings for an Audi are the same as for every other car brand. The brand does not change that amount. Since 1 January 2026, private users need a charger with a built-in MID meter. Do the charger check

Questions

Questions about Audi

How much ERE does an Audi earn per year?

As of October 18, 2026, at 15,000 km a year and all charged at home, an Audi earns about €280 to €405 a year in ERE, after the median commission of 20%. Consumption is 152 to 221 Wh/km (WLTP). Per kWh, earnings are the same for every car brand: €0.122.

Which Audi models are listed here?

We cover 4 Audi models, in order of new registrations in the Netherlands in 2024 and 2025: the Audi Q4 e-tron (171 Wh/km, 8,600 registrations), the Audi Q6 e-tron (177 Wh/km, 3,401 registrations), the Audi A6 e-tron (152 Wh/km, 2,490 registrations) and the Audi Q8 e-tron (221 Wh/km, 1,106 registrations). 15,597 registrations combined (EEA).

Which Audi uses the least energy?

the Audi A6 e-tron has the lowest consumption: 152 Wh/km (WLTP), the most kilometres per kWh of the Audi models here. the Audi Q8 e-tron has the highest consumption: 221 Wh/km. Lower consumption means fewer kWh charged at the same distance and therefore less ERE, not more. The brand does not change earnings per kWh.

How is the ERE figure for an Audi calculated?

At 15,000 km a year, all charged at home, after the median commission of 20%: about €280 (the Audi A6 e-tron, 152 Wh/km) to €405 (the Audi Q8 e-tron, 221 Wh/km). That difference comes only from the measured consumption (Wh/km, so kilometres per kWh), not from the brand. Per kWh, earnings are the same for every car brand. Since 1 January 2026, private users need a charger with a built-in MID meter; public charging earns you no ERE.

Can I charge an Audi bidirectionally?

Not for the brand as a whole, and only as the source describes it per model. V2L: yes on the Audi Q4 e-tron, no on the Audi Q6 e-tron, the Audi A6 e-tron and the Audi Q8 e-tron. V2H: no on every model in the data. V2G: no on every model in the data. Audi Q4 e-tron: V2L on the updated Q4 (orderable since May 2026): a 230 V socket in the boot (2.3 kW) or an optional charge-port adapter, up to 3.6 kW. No V2H or V2G in the Netherlands. Outside the Netherlands: V2H via DC, between 20 and 80% charge, only in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. Audi Q6 e-tron: No V2L, V2H or V2G. In 2026 Audi called the Q4 e-tron its first model with bidirectional charging. Whether a later update will add it is not known. Audi Q8 e-tron: No V2L, V2H or V2G. Audi calls the Q4 e-tron its first model with bidirectional charging. According to ev-database.org, Q8 e-tron production ended in November 2024. Sources: Audi MediaCenter, ev-database.org, ev-database.org, ev-database.org. Checked on October 6, 2026.

Does the car brand matter for ERE?

No. ERE depends on the kWh you charge at home and on the provider (the ERE price and the commission), never on the car brand. Per kWh, earnings for an Audi are the same as for every other brand: 0.33269 ERE per kWh, at €0.460 per ERE (October 18, 2026), after the median commission of 20%, which is €0.122 per kWh. A car with higher consumption (more Wh/km, fewer kilometres per kWh) charges more kWh at the same distance and therefore earns more ERE. That difference comes from the measured consumption, not from the brand.
