Frequently asked questions

How does the calculator work out my earnings?

The tool estimates how many kWh you charge at home from your annual mileage and consumption, and multiplies that by the working market price. The provider’s commission is then deducted.

What is the difference between gross and net?

Gross is the value before commission; net is what remains after the provider’s commission is withheld. We show both so you can see the impact of the commission.

Which market price do you use?

The calculator uses a working price of €0.12 per kWh as its basis. That is an indicative level; your actual earnings depend on the current price and your provider.

Is the result a guarantee?

No, the result is an indication and explicitly not a guaranteed amount. Consumption, price and conditions can make your actual earnings higher or lower.

Why does the tool show a range?

A range avoids false precision, because earnings can never be predicted exactly. The lower bound accounts for commission and the upper bound shows the gross value.

What if I don’t know my provider’s commission?

Then the tool uses an average assumption of 15%. If you pick a specific provider you can calculate with the actual commission.

Which default values does the tool use?

As an example the tool assumes 15,000 km per year and a consumption of 18 kWh per 100 km. You can adjust these values to your own situation.
