Chargers and ERE
Your EVBox charger after Everon: what now?
Does your EVBox count for ERE?
Per model: counts, MID meter, source
Parent company Engie started winding EVBox down in October 2024. Its own back office, Everon, closed on 1 December 2025: accounts and charging history are no longer accessible, and chargers without a new operator are offline. Your charger still works, but you have to choose a new back office yourself.
Not every EVBox charger counts: only models with a built-in MID meter qualify for ERE. Check your model below.

How to get your EVBox working again
Know what happens now. An EVBox without a new operator runs in offline mode: anyone who plugs in can charge, and charge cards, the app and tariffs no longer work.
Look up your generation. Gen 3 and 4 (BusinessLine G3/G4, HomeLine, Elvi) can be moved to an OCPP 1.6 back office, such as Tap Electric. Gen 5 (Livo, Livo 2, Liviqo) only speaks OCPP 2.0.1: it can go to E-Flux by Road, Monta or AMPECO among others, but not to Tap. For Gen 1 and 2 no migration route is known.
Have it done on site. Because the chargers are offline, migration can no longer be done remotely. For Gen 3 and 4 an installer sets the OCPP address in the charger with a cable; for Gen 5 an installer picks the new operator in the EVBox Install app, using the QR code on the charger.
Want ERE? Check whether your model has a built-in MID meter (table below). The Livo does not, the Elvi only with the MID wall dock; the BusinessLine and Liviqo do.
Then choose an ERE provider that collects your charging data through OCPP or through your new back office. A Liviqo or BusinessLine on E-Flux can earn ERE via Voltico, E-Flux's ERE partner. The providers that work with EVBox are listed below.

Is your EVBox charger stranded? Let us know
For the newest EVBox models (Livo, Livo 2, Liviqo) there are few options: switching only works through an installer with EVBox's app, and only a few operators support these chargers. We are looking into whether we can arrange affordable help: getting your charger back online, and ERE where possible. Nothing can be ordered yet. We first want to know how many people need this, and only email you if something comes of it.
Note: the Livo / Livo 2 has no MID meter, so it cannot earn ERE, not even with another back office. Getting it back online is possible.
Which EVBox models have a MID meter?
Which chargers have a MID meter: every model of every brand in one table.
| Model | Built-in MID meter | Note | Source |
|---|---|---|---|
EVBox Livo / Livo 2 | No | Built-in class A meter is not MID-certified; not eligible for ERE when charging at home. | Source ↗ |
EVBox Elvi | MID variant only | No MID meter as standard; only with the optional MID wall dock. Check your unit. | Source ↗ |
EVBox BusinessLine (G4) | Yes, built in | Class B MID meter built in per the EVBox datasheet. | Source ↗ |
EVBox Liviqo | Yes, built in | Class B MID meter built in; Eichrecht meter optional. | Source ↗ |
The NEa rule
For home charging the MID meter must be built into the charger since 1 January 2026. A separate (external) MID meter does not count for private users; only businesses that already registered that way before 2026 have until 1 January 2027. Exception: a separate allocation point from the grid operator with only the charger behind it.
Which ERE providers work with EVBox?
Based on the providers’ own brand lists. An automatic connection saves manual work and avoids missing sessions.

Also via a manual export of your charging sessions, whatever the brand: Inboekdienst.nl, Den Hartog Charging, Groen-laden.nl
How to get your charging data out of your EVBox
EVBox (Engie) has shut down: all Everon services (app/back office) ended on 1 December 2025, and accounts and stored data are no longer accessible. Session data now needs another OCPP back office (Livo/Livo 2: OCPP 2.0.1; Elvi and BusinessLine: OCPP 1.5S/1.6J). Tap Electric supports Gen 3/4 (BusinessLine G3/G4, HomeLine, Elvi) but says Gen 5 (Livo, Liviqo) cannot be migrated to Tap. Because the chargers have been offline since the shutdown, migration now has to be done on site at the charger.
