For EV drivers

ERE deal: Yes. Blue Current registers and sells EREs for charging data from charge points with a MID meter linked to the Blue Current back office (all Blue Current chargers have a MID meter), via an unnamed certified registrant. Payout once a year after NEa allocation and sale; the first payout is expected in Q1 2027. The ERE articles do not list an energy contract as a requirement.

Smart charging: Price-based charging for Blue Current-built charge points with Smart Reader: uses EPEX prices for the next 24 hours and slows or pauses charging during expensive hours. Works with a dynamic contract from Blue Current or another supplier.

Home battery: Not found on its own website.

Feed-in: No feed-in costs. Generation and consumption are compared per hour; the fee is the all-in dynamic hourly price minus the purchase fee per kWh, settled annually.

Per kWh including VAT and energy tax, excluding fixed supply costs, grid costs and the tax reduction per connection. Markup: as we recorded it per month; before September 27, 2026 the first markup we saw. * The supplier publishes the amount without saying whether it includes VAT. Market price: Energy-Charts (Fraunhofer ISE), data Bundesnetzagentur | SMARD.de (CC BY 4.0)

Worked example: an electric car charging 2,700 kWh a year at home would have paid about €337 less over the last 12 months with smart charging than charging in the evening. That assumes the car is plugged in during the cheapest hours. More trends
