50five is mainly a brand-independent installer and charge-point manager, and now also manages the former Shell Recharge home chargers. It runs its own ERE booking service for chargers on the 50five platform. Whether a charger qualifies depends on the model: 50five checks per charger whether it has an MID meter. The Dutch site no longer shows a home-charger webshop.

The NEa rule
For home charging the MID meter must be built into the charger since 1 January 2026. A separate (external) MID meter does not count for private users; only businesses that already registered that way before 2026 have until 1 January 2027. Exception: a separate allocation point from the grid operator with only the charger behind it.

How to get your charging data out of your 50five
50five is a charge-point operator (CPO): chargers are connected to the 50five platform via OCPP. Private customers see their sessions and transactions in the 50five e-mobility app, on the Particulier Start (€4/month) or Compleet (€8.50/month) subscription. The charge-management portal can create reports and export them to Excel. For ERE, 50five uses the charging data already on its own platform. 50five also manages the former Shell Recharge home chargers and is taking over part of Ecotap's chargers from October 2026.
50five offers its own ERE registration. The main condition is that the charge point has an MID-certified energy meter; 50five checks this per charger ID ('the majority of 50five-managed chargers comply'). It only works for chargers already on the 50five platform. Customers sign a 1-, 2- or 3-year mandate with a 23%, 21% or 19% fee. After each calendar year, 50five pays out that year's EREs in one go.
