A smart charge point is convenient, but not every smart charge point automatically qualifies for ERE. For private individuals, the decisive factor is an integrated MID-certified meter.
Smart doesn’t automatically mean suitable
“Smart” is about connectivity and control, not about the meter. For ERE, the charge point must measure the kWh charged reliably and fraud-resistantly with an integrated MID meter. A smart charge point without such a meter usually does not qualify.
When is it suitable?
- The charge point has an integrated MID meter.
- You can export the charging sessions in kWh.
- You own the grid connection.
- The charge point is located in the Netherlands.
Not sure?
Do the charger check for a quick indication based on brand and model. The definitive assessment is always done by the ERE provider.
